Got these for my 92 year old mother. She uses a walker and increasingly has swelling in her feet. She rarely walks outdoors but for those occasions when she does, I decided she needed a decent pair of shoes that would fit and be easier to put on. Most of her life is spent in cheap, flat slippers. Well, this is the only footwear she now wants to use. She wears them all day, every day in the house and loves the support. I noticed the first day, her posture was improved. Instead of shuffling, she’s picking up her feet and walking much better. Amazing difference. Normal shoe size is 6.5. Got these in size 7 and the fit is just right. Adjustable velcro across the bridge is another bonus. She sometimes wears an ace bandage around one foot and up her leg to deal with edema and she can adjust the shoe to accommodate it while wearing the other shoe tighter. Pricey, but as long as they hold up, they’re worth every penny.

Tried and returned a lot of shoes before settling on this pair. Comfortable and easy to get on for a person with limited mobility and bunions. They look nice too, not cheap or cheesy.

My auntie loves these shoes. My aunt is 80, shuffles when she walks, and has very bad callous on the bottom of her feet which caused her a lot of discomfort. I had bought her some shoes that cost me over $150 but her callous got worse. I found the ortho shoes on Amazon and hoped they would help. My aunt was excited when she saw them, she thought they were pretty. She liked that they had a Velcro strap for closure so she wouldn’t have to fumble with laces. When she walked in them her shuffling decreased . Her gait became steadier and she said there was less discomfort when she walks. I highly recommend this product. Skip the super expensive shoes.

Confined to a wheelchair review. The shoes are so easy to put on and off. Generous width of landing pad for the strap. Strong velcro!! If I have one swollen foot then the strap accommodates that foot and it works great for the one that isn’t as swollen. Completely adjustable if both swell Can be adjusted throughout the day as fluid goes down. Since I have to lift my leg up and place on opposite knee, the shoe needs to be light. It is. The tongue is thick enough to actually stand up while putting the foot inside. I can’t try standing to put them on, but I am guessing because of the thicker tongue, it would be easier than thinner tongues that squash inside as you push in your foot. It comes with a cloth tie string shoe bag which I assume would be great if you have to pack in a suitcase. Also came with two sets of inserts. My feet at the end of the day are both normal because of these shoes!!!

Thank goodness I found these for my elderly mother’s edema feet. They are sturdy and of good quality. They are also attractive shoes. Be sure to get diabetic/edema socks and you’re good to go.

I bought these for my mom, not because she is diabetic but because something has gone wrong with her foot and it turns inward and she’s kind of walking on the outside of her foot and because of it she has to have one shoe bigger than the other. So these shoes are perfect because she can have one looser than the other. She lives them and cannot say enough great this about them. Several of her friends have purchase them since seeing hers and I have now ordered her, her third pair.

  7. TexasRose

I bought these shoes for my mom that has naturally narrow feet but with new edema needed shoes that had more space around toe box and adjustable so we can tighten or loosen based on the size of her edema. She says they are very comfortable. We did use a taller arch support orthotic that she was used to instead of the inserts that the shoes came with. Shoes are LARGE for size about 1/2 to whole size larger than her other sneaker sizes. Great breathable stretchy fabric. Good velcro.

  8. Amazon Customer

I purchased these for my 96-year-old mother who was in need of a comfortable walking shoe. Edema was making it impossible for her to wear many of her shoes, especially those with straps across the top. Purchased in gray, they look stylish and she raves about the comfort. At a size 8, her toes appear to be right at the tip but with the rounded toes she doesn’t think she will require a larger size. The texture of the soles prevent them from slipping over carpet, which is reassuring. The shoes arrived quickly, actually ahead of the projected delivery date. If all continues to go well, we’ll consider purchasing them in another color.

These shoes are perfect for anyone experiencing swollen feet and edema. Easy to get off and off but stay securely on feet with wide Velcro across the top. And they are fairly stylish!
