I have been wearing new balance sneakers for quite a long time. of all the brands i have worn over the years, new balance comes in as the most comfortable. when i started to get up in age i decided to go with the velcro straps. once set in position, all i do is slip them on. no more bending and certainly no shoe horns.amazon had the 577’s for 17 bucks less than ebay. so no question where i am buying. people call these old man sneakers. i say nuts to you. you fool around with laces and by the time your done, i am dressed.let me add that in the past, new balance offered 2 velcro models-the 577 and the 813 which has now been dropped. i favored the 813 because the tread i felt was better.

Excellent shoes for people especially seniors who have problems tying laces and keeping them tied. Also fact that a wide size (4 E) is available. Was unable to find the right size on New Balance website store. Kudos to Amazon .

I bought these for my 70-year-old dad, who was having difficulty finding the right walking sneakers. He had trouble with most of the sneakers he had been wearing, but these New Balance sneakers worked well for him. He is very happy with these comfortable pairs.
